Description
Is it true what they say: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? The Marder III M with it’s 7.5cm Pak40/3 gun has so many rivets holding the body together– it’s downright ugly! But hey, this is a military machine meant for wreaking havoc– not entering beauty contests! And wreak it did– the Marder III M was used on almost all battlefronts by German Tank Destroyer Units. This impressive unit (35255) is now the latest addition to Tamiya’s 1/35 Military Miniatures Series, and will be available shortly. Tamiya has again pulled out all the stops when it comes to extreme detail! Everything is here: fine main gun detail, ammunition racks, even the radio equipment is here. Oh, and those rivets! One figure is included to bring even more life to your newest creation! During WWII, the German Army produced and operated the Marder III series, which was built on the obsolete Czech 38T tank chassis. It was used primarily against the Soviet T-34 tanks. There are a few variants of the Marder. The M version is significant because the entire “top” section was moved to the rear, while the engine was placed in the middle. This arrangement could now easily accommodate the projectile lobbing 7.5cm Pak40/3. In all, 942 M’s were produced until the thoroughbred tank destroyer Hetzer assumed much of the Marder’s role. Tamiya has again taken a very close look at the real deal, before starting to manufacture its model. Everything is here. When you assemble this kit, you’ll be making the chassis almost exactly the same way that the real one was. Each panel lines up, and fits into place perfectly. Decals for 5 different markings, as well as the muffler cover being reproduced as a photo-etched part finish off the contents of the box.
